From June 1, 2023, Ukrainian users will not be able to use the Bitrix24 cloud service, since the Russian company Bitrix ceases to operate in Ukraine. All related information will be deleted. Companies that use the cloud service from Bitrix24 have received notification of this change.
At the same time, the boxed version of "Bitrix24" will work from June 1 in a limited license mode, and some functionality will become unavailable. The Bitrix24 company has not accepted payments in Ukraine since the full-scale invasion, and users could continue to use the product for free.
The message for companies using the cloud service says: "On June 1, the service will permanently stop its work in Ukraine. After June 1, access to the portals will be impossible, all data will be completely deleted. Until that time, you can upload all the necessary data."
The reason for this change is the sanctions imposed by Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed Decree No. 227/2023 dated April 15, 2023, which provides for 10-year sanctions against 351 individuals and 254 legal entities, including Bitrix24.
These sanctions were adopted based on the decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) on the application and amendment of personal sanctions. According to the decree, companies and individuals that were sanctioned are deprived of the right to conduct business and receive income in Ukraine.
Bitrix24 is one of many Russian IT companies that have been sanctioned. Earlier, in 2022, Ukraine also banned the use of social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki, as they are controlled by Russian companies.
These changes in legislation may cause inconvenience for Ukrainian users of Bitrix24 and other services associated with Russian companies. However, they also emphasize the importance of cyber security and national security, especially in the face of growing digitalization and dependence on technology.
