Main characteristics of GPT-4o mini:

1. Intelligence : The GPT-4o mini outperforms the GPT-3.5 Turbo in text intelligence tests, scoring 82% on MMLU versus 69.8%. She also demonstrates high levels of multimodal thinking.

2. Price : The new model is more than 60% cheaper than the GPT-3.5 Turbo. The usage cost is only $0.15 per 1 million input tokens and $0.60 per 1 million output tokens.

3. Modalities : GPT-4o mini currently supports text and visual capabilities. There are plans to add audio and video support in the future.

4. Languages : Improved understanding of a variety of non-English languages makes GPT-4o mini a versatile tool for developers around the world.

Thanks to its low cost and high performance, the GPT-4o mini is ideal for data-intensive tasks such as code analysis or chat history, as well as for tasks that require quick responses, such as customer support chats.

GPT-4o mini has a 128k context window and supports up to 16k output tokens per request. The model's knowledge profile is current as of October 2023, and the ability to fine-tune the model is planned to be launched in the near future.

OpenAI recommends that developers using GPT-3.5 Turbo upgrade to GPT-4o mini for better results at a lower cost. The model is available for use in the Chat Completions API, Assistants API and Batch API, where a 50% discount is provided on batch tasks completed asynchronously within 24 hours.
